Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) has marked the first anniversary of Sentosa Sensoryscape, celebrating a milestone of over 5 million visitors since its opening in March 2024.
The ridge-to-reef attraction, connecting Resorts World Sentosa to Sentosa’s beaches, has redefined visitor experiences with its multi-sensory environment, increasing dwell time on the island by an hour since its soft launch.
Sensoryscape, covering 30,000 square meters and home to over 200 species of trees and shrubs, blends nature, design, and technology into an immersive experience.
ImagiNite, its nighttime attraction featuring Augmented Reality (AR), remains the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, enhancing Sentosa’s after-dark appeal and reinforcing its day-to-night destination status.
Introducing Senseri – A Mystical AR Experience
To celebrate this anniversary, SDC has launched Senseri, a new AR feature that further enhances the ImagiNite experience. Inspired by the peacocks of Sentosa, Senseri is a mythical guardian who takes flight across Sensoryscape at night, merging physical and virtual reality. Her name combines “Sen”, linking her to Sentosa, and “seri”, meaning radiance in Malay.
The anniversary celebrations also featured a live symphony showcase by composer August Lum and a 16-piece orchestra, performing a custom soundscape designed for Sensoryscape. Additionally, artist JOOheng Tan, known for designing Sentosa’s Siloso Word Block, unveiled a new Sensoryscape Word Block, further enriching the visitor experience.
A Dynamic Space for Culture and Community
Sensoryscape has become a vibrant hub for community engagement, regularly partnering with local artists and creative groups. Highlights include:
Shining yellow and purple in support of #ShineforDementia
“18 Blessings in Bloom” floral displays for Chinese New Year
Upcoming events such as the WWF Earth Hour 2025 Festival and Sentosa Cares Week
“As we celebrate Sentosa Sensoryscape’s first anniversary, we are thrilled by the overwhelming response,” said Ms. Thien Kwee Eng, CEO of Sentosa Development Corporation. “With the introduction of Senseri, we are taking visitor experiences to new heights, awakening imagination and inspiration globally.”
