Festival of Fun’s StreetFest spreads its wings

The Singapore Festival of Fun 2018 will be increasing its StreetFest fun factor this year with 70 show  spread out over more areas around Clarke Quay. This year, besides the Fountain Square, two more locations, Read Bridge and Tan Tye Place, have been added to showcase street performances from London’s Covent Garden. Audiences will be able to catch more street acts from the 13 to 18 March and move with ease from one area to another around Clarke Quay with this enhanced experience.

The Singapore Festival of Fun is a mega 3-in-one festival comprising fun for all ages over 10 days during the March school holidays – Magners International Comedy Festival (8-11 March), Nickelodeon Fiesta (10 & 11 March) and Clarke Quay StreetFest (13-18 March).

With the added locations and more than double the number of shows taking place, audiences can expect a more enhanced festival vibe and visitor experience. This non-ticketed festival will have street performers engaging people the minute they enter Clarke Quay

Get ready to watch contortionist Bendy Em twist and turn her body to squeeze into a 16 inch perspex box, with a basketball in tow. Not to be outdone, the beautiful and graceful Betty Brawn Strong Lady will shatter gender clichés by performing exhilarating demonstrations of strength, such as lifting two volunteers from the crowd.

Catch Jump Stilts Extreme, a bionic duo of professional stilt jumpers who will somersault and perform tricks of the highest level. Meet Pancho Libre from Mexico who defies gravity on a cyr wheel and hangs high above the crowds on a pole.

Guinness World Record holder and escapologist Rob Roy Collins returns to the festival with a brand new “escape from chains” routine. For selfie lovers, look out for The Tree who will be posing amongst the crowd.

Magners International Comedy Festival
March 8-11 (Thursday to Sunday8pm onwards): The 5th edition of Magners International Comedy Festival returns to various bars in Clarke Quay with arguable the finest group of comedians ever to step foot in Singapore. Critically acclaimed US stand-up Doug Stanhope, best newcomer Yuriko Kotani from the UK, Jim Brewsky from Hong Kong, our very own Fakkah Fuzz and Samuel See along with 7 others from around the world will have audiences laughing out loud and in stitches. 

Nickelodeon Fiesta 
March 10 & 11 (Saturday and Sunday10am to 6pm): Fun for the whole family, the Nickelodeon Fiesta returns for its second year with a brand new heritage theme in line with Clarke Quay’s rich history and celebrates the local passion for food. Expect photo opportunities with Nickelodeon characters, games and lots of collectibles to be won.
