Dewar’s highball Happy Hour at Hotel Telegraph

Hotel Telegraph invites you to kick back beside the pool at their resort-style rooftop bar, right in the city centre, with a month-long happy hour promotion in collaboration with DEWAR’S whisky. To showcase the versatility of DEWAR’S whisky – three variations of the Highball cocktail will be served at Hotel Telegraph’s 1927 Rooftop Bar and at the all-day cafe, The Dining Room.

Following Singapore’s recent heat wave, the Whisky Highball is the perfect refreshing cocktail to sip to cool down in the tropical sun. From 12-5 pm, guests can enjoy the classic DEWAR’s & Soda Highball (S$11++), DEWAR’s Elderflower Highball (S$14++), or DEWAR’s Tommy’s Mule (S$14++) at either of Hotel Telegraph’s dining establishments throughout the month of June.

The DEWAR’s & Soda Highball is built from DEWAR’S 12 Year Old whisky, plenty of ice, chilled soda water and a lemon twist. This simple drink is the ideal after-work drink, especially in Singapore’s hot and humid climate. For guests who prefer a more layered drink, the DEWAR’s Elderflower Highball is made following the same combination of whisky, ice, and chilled soda water – however, DEWAR’S 15 Year Old whisky is used instead and St Germain Elderflower Liqueur is added to bring a floral sweetness to the cocktail.

The final variation of the Highball that will be served at Hotel Telegraph is DEWAR’s Tommy’s Mule – with DEWAR’S 15 Year Old whisky as a base, and the addition of ginger beer, agave syrup, lime wedges, and a mint sprig for garnish. The ginger beer and agave syrup give the drink a punchy spice which is brightened by the freshness of the lime wedges and mint sprig.

Located at 35 Robinson Road and surrounded by tall office skyscrapers, Hotel Telegraph’s 1927 Rooftop Bar, located on the 6th floor, provides an interesting backdrop of Singapore’s Central Business District. Golden hour at the poolside bar provides respite after a longday at the office, with the sun hitting the surrounding buildings, casting a warm glow; the ideal setting for you to kick back and relax with a DEWAR’S Whisky Highball in hand.

“We want people to see that there is more to the Highball cocktail than just the famed Gin & Tonic – we’re a whisky-loving country and DEWAR’S whisky has been voted the number one favourite whisky for a Highball by the bartenders of Japan – a country that celebrates this simple yet very tasty and refreshing cocktail,” says Mike Cheong, Brand Ambassador.

If you don’t manage to catch Hotel Telegraph’s Happy Hour, the three Highballs are still available all-day – DEWAR’s & Soda Highball (S$15++), DEWAR’s Elderflower Highball (S$18++), and DEWAR’s Tommy’s Mule (S$18++).
