Singapore Airlines has announced a direct flight between Singapore and New York and the inaugural flight will depart on October 11.
The non-stop 19-hour journey will be the world’s longest commercial flight and will offer a hassle-free option for the typically lengthy trip, making The Big Apple more accessible from Asia once again.
After travelling the 16,700km route, there is no place better to continue living the high life than at The Lowell in the Upper East Side.
Long the New York hotel of choice for “in the know” world travellers, The Lowell offers a city oasis for guests to relax and unwind after the non-stop flight.
Guests can replenish with fine-dining at Majorelle, the hotel’s popular new restaurant run by renowned Restaurateur Charles Masson and quench their thirst at stylish bar Jacques, both of which are inspired by the iconic Yves Saint Laurent gardens in Marrakech.
Guest rooms feel more like a stylish New York apartment than a five-star hotel and are designed by Michael Smith (who designed the interiors for Obama’s White House) and many feature real, log-burning fireplaces in the sumptuous in-room sitting areas.
Those looking for the ultimate comfort and grandeur, can choose to stay in one of The Lowell’s signature suites and enjoy afternoon tea on the private terrace, while taking in the spectacular views of Manhattan.
Once guests feel revived, many of Manhattan’s hotspots are just a stone’s throw away. From a refreshing walk in Central Park, shopping on 5th Avenue or browsing the many famous museums, The Lowell’s surrounding area has something for everyone.
