Spackman Entertainment Group Limited, one of South Korea’s leading entertainment production groups, has announced that its manhunt thriller film, Golden Slumber, produced by its subsidiary Zip Cinema, has been sold across various regions in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the US.
The distribution rights of the film have been purchased by Taiwan’s Movie Cloud, Hong Kong’s Megaton, India’s MVP and Australia and New Zealand’s JnJ Entertainment. In Southeast Asia, the film has been sold in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei (Clover Films), Thailand and Cambodia (Coral Culture Contents) and the Philippines (Viva).
Starring leading Korean actors Gang Dong-won and Han Hyo-joo, Golden Slumber is slated for release in Singapore on 8 March 2018. The film, which premiered in Los Angeles on 16 February, will also be
screened in several US cities, such as Denver, New York, San Diego, Dallas, New Jersey, Atlanta, Toronto, Vancouver, Honolulu, D.C. and Seattle.
Based on the Japanese novel by Isaka Kotaro, the film is directed by Noh Dong-soek and distributed by CJ Entertainment.
Gang Dong-won has previously collaborated with Zip Cinema in several movie projects, including Master (2016) and The Priests (2015) and Han Hyo-joo has previously starred in one of Zip Cinema’s hit films, Cold Eyes (2013). Kim Eui-sung of Train to Busan (2016) and Yoo Jae-myeong, an artist managed by the associated company Spackman Media Group Limited, co-stars in Golden Slumber as well.
