Hong Kong Tourism Board to roll out Open House Hong Kong

Dr YK Pang, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) welcomes the HK SAR Government’s announcement of the in principle agreement to establish bilateral Air Travel Bubble between Hong Kong and Singapore.

Dr Pang said: The HK SAR Government’s announcement matches well with the HKTB’s launch of a standardised hygiene protocol for tourism related sectors with the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency, which was launched last week. The protocol provides a unified set of guidelines on hygiene and anti-epidemic measures for tourism-related industries to prepare the tourism related sectors to welcome visitors back while bolstering visitors’ confidence in travelling to Hong Kong.

In July, the HKTB’s Southeast Asia Office launched the “100 Reasons to Miss Hong Kong” promotional campaign with the aim of engaging Southeast Asian travellers to reminisce about the things they miss in Hong Kong when they are homebound. Riding on this campaign, the HKTB Singapore Office launched a second round of promotion earlier this week
and brought together 8 authentic Hong Kong food brands in Singapore to offer a variety of promotions for Singaporeans to enjoy.

The campaign has been well-received and will continue till mid November 2020.

Also, when the launch date of the Air Travel Bubble is confirmed, HKTB intends to roll out a “Open House Hong Kong” promotional campaign. Supported by trade partners in various sectors, “Open House Hong Kong” encompasses a collection of competitive tactical offers in airfares and accommodations with a view to attract inbound visitors to Hong Kong.

Singapore is one of the major source markets of Hong Kong’s tourism industry in 2019, visitor arrivals from the market recorded more than 450,000.
