The Peddlers Gin Company has launched its Salted Plum Gin in Singapore.
Inspired by a classic sloe gin, Peddlers adds an East Asian edge by infusing salted plum, from the traditional northern Chinese ‘Suan Mei Tang’ summer recipes.
Taking their original award-winning Shanghai Gin, the Peddlers team infuse it with salted plum, mulberry, hawthorne and osmanthus for three months. The gin is then aged for one month in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks to give it rounded notes of vanilla and oak, and a dry finish.
The Salted Plum Gin draws inspiration from a summer drink with a rich history, with Suan Mei Tang being one of the oldest traditional beverages in China. Historically, peddlers would go from street to street selling this thirst-quenching familiar favourite, and today, it is enjoyed all over the world.

Taste Profile
Top notes of salted plum, dates and mulberry give richness to the underlying juniper notes. Flavours of hawthorne, liquorice and citrus then come in, adding a complex depth to the gin that evens out with dry sherry notes to finish.
