Singapore Rugby Sevens early bird offer extended

The early bird ticket discount offer for the HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens 2018, scheduled for April 28-29 at the 55,000-seat National Stadium, has been extended by 16 days to January 21. It was launched on December 1 last year.

Rugby and sports fans who wish to be among the first to secure the cheapest available tickets to the eighth stop of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series now have an additional two weeks to grab the special 20 per cent discount across all ticket categories after the busy festive period.

With the early bird discount offer, Premium ticket holders can experience two days of world-class sporting action at the HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens from a reserved seat in the centre-line area for only $176.

Families with two under-18 children, who enjoy quality time together with outdoor activities, can soak in the party vibe and enjoy the array of fun, family-friendly activities for as little as $96 for the entire event weekend.

David Lim, Chairman of Rugby Singapore, said: “The HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens is an amazing event. With its vibrant buzz and carnival atmosphere, it is not just a rugby tournament but weekend fiesta that is inclusive and engaging for everyone. The 14-minute games and fast-paced on-pitch action delivers thrills for fans. Plus there is mega entertainment, great food and a proper stadium party. For those who are curious about the sport, there are plenty of rugby-themed activities in our FunZones for everyone to try first-hand and understand just how much fun rugby is.

“I think all of us were busy with our families and loved ones over the year-end festivities, so we wanted to extend the Early Bird discount period by a couple of weeks during this quieter time before the preparations for Chinese New Year begin to give our fans a final chance to avail this one-time, 20 per cent discount. Once the early bird offer ends on January 21, our discounts will be on a reducing scale – and fans won’t be able to get tickets at these prices again.”

The third edition of the tournament aims to involve more families and youths with affordable weekend family packages so they can embrace and celebrate rugby. A spectacular rugby carnival is planned for Singapore’s hotspots in the lead-up to the event and during the tournament weekend. Tickets are available at www.singapore7s.sg

Kenya were surprise first-time winners of the HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens in 2016. The 2017 final was an all North American affair as Canada beat the United States 26-19 in a pulsating final.

The 2018 tournament will once again see the 15 core teams – Argentina, Australia, Canada, England, Fiji, France, Kenya, New Zealand, Russia, Samoa, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, USA and Wales and the Asian qualifiers Japan – battle it out over 45 games across two days of fast and frenetic competition.
