Superfood Kitchen, popular for its healthy and affordable food bowls, has launched ‘Healthier Choice’ menu options in collaboration with the Health Promotion Board’s (HPB) Healthier Dining Programme.
This partnership further strengthens Superfood Kitchen’s commitment to providing access to affordable and nutritious foods in Singapore.
An HPB study revealed that an alarming 90% of Singaporeans consume an average of 9g of salt daily, surpassing the recommended daily salt intake by 4g. On September 28, 2022, the Health Promotion Board unveiled its ambitious objective of reducing sodium consumption by 15% within the next five years.
This pivotal initiative aims to combat the adverse health effects associated with excessive salt intake.
Recognising the urgency and significance of this initiative, Superfood Kitchen has taken a proactive stance in promoting healthier lifestyles with its participation in HPB’s Healthier Dining Programme by providing more people with access to affordable and nutritious meals.
Since its inception in 2014, the Healthier Dining Programme has significantly expanded the availability and accessibility of healthier food and drink options in Singapore by over ten times. As part of the Healthier Dining Programme, Superfood Kitchen’s new menu options have been crafted to align with the recommended healthier choices.
The dishes have undergone a compulsory analysis, ensuring their nutritional value meets the HPB’s guidelines. Additionally, the Healthier Dining Programme endorses these dishes with healthier choice labels, enabling Singaporeans to easily identify them as part of the programme.
