Taiga Chocolate takes top honours in Singapore

Fish chocolate, made by Taiga Chocolate Oy from Vaasa, Finland, received an award in Asia for the second time.

The special chocolate by Taiga was ranked first in the category of confectionery at the Speciality & Fine Food Asia 2019 trade fair in Singapore.

Taiga was also recognised among the top three in the ingredient innovation category.

Last year the fish chocolate by Taiga was awarded the best product of the show at the Natural and Organic Products Asia show in Hong Kong.

Taiga fish chocolate is made with dark chocolate, with small, dried and marinated fish on top. Dried fish is a delicacy in Asia, but no one has combined dried fish with chocolate before.

In Taiga’s products, luxury chocolate meets pure aromatic ingredients of Arctic nature. Freeze-dried berries on top of the chocolate turns each chocolate product into an edible work of art.

In addition to berry chocolates, Taiga Chocolate selection includes special treats for adventurous minds. Taiga combines dark chocolate with not only fish but also reindeer crisps and whole, cultivated house crickets.

”The award ceremony taking place on the first anniversary of our company is a great way to celebrate our very successful path”, said Taiga Chocolate CEO Mirja Palola.

Taiga products are currently available in Finland and in Hong Kong. In the autumn, the chocolates are scheduled to enter the Singapore market.
